Who Are Gore?

W.L.Gore & Associates is a global materials science company that offers a range of solutions to individuals and businesses in a variety of industries through the manufacturing of products derived by fluropolymers. As a globally recognised company with more than 12,000 employees, W. L. Gore has made a number of major contributions to manufacturing, health and science sectors, specifically in the innovation of new products designed to make a positive difference to our society. 

With more than 3,500 unique innovations, Gore has contributed to major advancements in waterproof materials through their Gore-tex fabric as well as in electronics and polymer processing which has wide ranging benefits across industrial and commercial applications. Interestingly, Gore has expanded their solutions into the medical industry, and to date, they have manufactured and distributed over 50 million medical devices to aid in surgery for Cardiovascular patients and for a range of other General Medical applications. 

The Brief and Campaign Objectives:

Among Gore’s various medical products is the Gore® Excluder® Iliac Branch Endoprosthesis, which is the sole FDA-approved, off-the-shelf iliac branch solution. The Excluder® Iliac Branch Endoprosthesis  is the result of an intensive development process, and it is designed to preserve the flow of blood to external and internal iliac arteries. This product is a life-saving solution and one of Gore’s most important innovations in the medical field. 

Due to its importance, RGC was tasked with designing the stand and packaging to accompany an educational model of the anatomy which showcases the product in situ.

Gore wished to distribute a model of the product along with a USB of product information to help educate vascular surgeons in Australia and New Zealand about Excluder. The team at RGC Digital Marketing was proud to be a part of this design process to highlight the educational material accurately and attractively

To assist Gore in this educative process within our region and bring this project to fruition, our team was required to design the layout for the base of the model, as well as the packaging of the product.

This packaging was required to …

  • Showcase Gore branding and product logo/imagery
  • Communicate required legal/regulatory information
  • Surgeon details and contact information

The stand was required to…

  • Present relevant information about the product
  • Provide key data and product differentiation
  • Showcase the Gore branding and product name
  • Identify the location of the USB

Our Strategy:

To achieve these varied objectives, our design team created a clean overall aesthetic that allowed the anatomical model to stand out. Beyond this, the packaging also offered details about the product, and incorporated some of the research behind its success. A consistent style was maintained throughout the designs that matched the overall Gore branding that can be seen across a wide range of products and marketing materials. 

To help Gore communicate its most important information in a clear and concise manner, our team worked to showcase the product in the best light possible, drawing attention to the most crucial aspects of the product. This allowed surgeons to easily observe the qualities of the product and compare The Excluder® Iliac Branch Endoprosthesis to competing products in the market. 

The Results:

Ultimately, this project assisted Gore in showcasing their new innovation to vascular surgeons in Australia and New Zealand, revealing its potential as a life-saving solution that can be used for local patient surgeries. Fortunately, this initiative was met with an overwhelmingly positive response from surgeons across the region. The project ensured these professionals are now all well-informed about the key details of the product, and have an understanding of the related research underpinning its development and use.
