As a specialty chemical supplier and manufacturer for the building and construction industry, Sika Australia prides itself on being technically driven and the products service the domestic and commercial industries. The business is balanced between contractors, architects, engineers and DIY enthusiasts.
Sika is the global leader in their market, and although they enjoy tremendous awareness amongst builders in the commercial sector, their products are not that known in the consumer market. RGC Digital Marketing was commissioned to design a website with consumers in mind, as all Sika products are sold through major hardware stores across Australia including Bunnings, Home Timber & Hardware and more.
The brief was to build a website which could not only educate consumers on the vast range of Sika products and applications, but to also provide Tradesmen with more in-depth knowledge on products which would add value to their trade applications.
The website was built in a responsive format and in a Joomla Content Management System. All product information is managed via a purpose built XML component linking the website content to a PIM system, which makes for seamless content updates and integration. All videos are managed via a playlist, which is managed by YouTube, and this makes for easy updating.
The home page enables DIY’s or Tradies to access their own relevant sections and each of the sections provide product information, advice, tips and resources on how Sika products can help with all DIY and construction applications and its intuitive search function helps consumers locate the best product for their project.
Search Engine Optimisation techniques were incorporated into the build, to ensure that pages are easily located within Google Search Engines.
Consumers and Tradesmen can sign up to the club to receive news and they can also ask a Sika team member for advice on their project via a forum gateway.
